We want to help solve this problems for the parents in the Riverside area. We want to create a place where parents can, for a very small fee leave their children while they go to work. The space will be safe, creative, and most importantly, fun! We’ll spend the day painting, singing songs, playing games and doing crafts until the moms and dads show up.
This is a lot easier said than done, but we have a plan.
Step one: Become a nonprofit
This has been accomplished! Thanks to our generous donors (and volunteers for filling out stacks of IRS documents), we were able to incorporate as a 501(c)(3) in early 2018.
Step two: Find a location
Now we are looking for a location. We’re talking to city, county and other regional officials about renting a spot for a reasonable price.
Step three: Raise funds
The next step is to raise funds, and we have several ways to do this. We’ll be applying for grants from city, state, county and federal agencies. We’ll be asking for donations from large corporations as well as local business owners and philanthropists. We’ll also be accepting donations from individuals and collecting small fees from our clients. The money will pay for just the essentials: payroll, art supplies, toys and the utility bills. You can help us with this effort by visiting our GoFundMe page.
Step four: Open the doors
Once we have enough money to keep the operation running, we’ll start letting parents sign up their kids and let the creativity begin!
